ADC

Show MAX127 A/D Conversions

ADC

Show the A/D conversions of a MAX127 analog-to-digital converter (adc show <n>, device adc<n>), or set its sample count (adc samples <n>). Read-only except for the sample count.

This is a utility for Broadcom reference boards. It talks to a named device in the SDK’s I2C device table, on the I2C bus of the switch chip itself. On a SONiC switch the platform’s fans, sensors, EEPROMs and optics are normally handled by the platform drivers on the CPU’s own I2C buses, so the device is usually missing. On a SONiC Trident 3 switch adc show 0 prints ADC: cannot open I2C device adc0: Entry not found and fails (adc0 is also the device used by samples).

Hardware-validated

drivshell> adc show 0
ADC: cannot open I2C device adc0: Entry not found

Failed to execute the diagnostic command. Error: Operation failed.
