MSPI

MasterSPI Read / Write

MSPI

Talk to a device on the switch chip’s master SPI controller: send bytes, read bytes, or both in one transaction, or send the contents of a hex file.

Grammar:

mspi [Device=<n>] [CPOL=<0|1>] [CPHA=<0|1>]
mspi [...] load <hexfile>
mspi [...] write <hexdata>
mspi [...] read <numbytes>
mspi [...] write <hexdata> read <numbytes>

<hexdata> is a string of hex digits, two per byte; <hexfile> is a text file of hex bytes separated by white space. Reads print the bytes in hex. Device numbers are board-specific.

Warning

SPI devices on a switch board can include clock chips and flash. Writing to the wrong device can change board clocks or corrupt flash. Do not use on a production switch unless you know what is on the bus.

Unvalidated

drivshell> mspi Device=<n> read 4

Built-in help

Usage :
    mspi [device = n] [CPHA=n][CPOL=n]
    mspi [device = n] [CPHA=n][CPOL=n] load <hexfile>
    mspi [device = n] [CPHA=n][CPOL=n] write <hexdata>
    mspi [device = n] [CPHA=n][CPOL=n] read <numbytes>
    mspi [device = n] [CPHA=n][CPOL=n] write <hexdata> read <numbytes>
Optionally select a device and configres. The device number is specific to chip/board.
<hexfile> is ASCII file, with hex bytes separated by white space
