FlowTrackerMON

FlowtracketMon

FlowTrackerMON

Shortest form: ftmon.

Console monitor for flow-tracker export records (“FTMON”). start turns on the export FIFO and a callback that counts the records the flow tracker exports. Depending on report, the records are also decoded to the console or cached. Type keywords in full; abbreviations are not accepted.

With no argument the command prints the monitor status, the report options and the number of records received. The status line reads IPFIX Deamon Status: <Running|Not Running>.: the wording is copied from IPFIX.

The command exists only on devices with flow-tracker export DMA. Elsewhere the shell reports it as not found. A SONiC TD3 switch may not have it.

Status and report without options are read-only. start, stop and report +Cache change SDK state inside syncd. SONiC does not use this monitor.

drivshell> FlowTrackerMON
FlowTrackerMON start

Start the export monitor. FlowTrackerMON stop stops it. Starting it twice prints <cmd>: FTMON thread already running.. Stopping it when it is not running prints <cmd>: ERROR: FTMON thread already stopped..

drivshell> ftmon start
FlowTrackerMON report [<+|-><option> ...]

Without options, print FTMON Reporting on for: and FTMON Reporting off for: lists. Otherwise + turns an option on and - turns it off. The options are Count, Decode, Cache, Dump and @ALL (or @*) for all of them. The built-in help lists only Count and Decode. Cache keeps the last record of every flow in memory. With Dump set and the cache on, the cached records are printed at once.

drivshell> ftmon report +Count +Decode
FlowTrackerMON dump

Print the cached export records, if report +Cache is on. This keyword is not in the built-in help.

drivshell> ftmon dump
