MCSDump

Create MCS dumpfile

MCSDump

Shortest form: mcsd.

Show the firmware thread table of an embedded core, or dump core memory to a file.

  • MCSDump <ucnum> prints the thread table of that core’s firmware, with the columns ID, Name, %, Base, Size, sp, free, Priority and run_time.

  • MCSDump <file> <address> <size> [Halt=true|false] writes <size> bytes of core memory from <address> to <file> in Broadcom dump format. Halt=true stops the cores while the dump runs.

The built-in help suggests that an address and size also follow a core number; they do not: a core number always prints the thread table.

The thread-table form is read-only. The file form writes a file inside the syncd container; with Halt=true it pauses all embedded firmware for the length of the dump.

Unvalidated — Thread table of core 0

drivshell> mcsdump 0

Unvalidated — Dump 64 KiB of core memory to a file

drivshell> mcsdump /tmp/mcs.dump 0x0 0x10000 Halt=false
