SETENV
Create/Delete a variable in the global scope
- SETENV
Create, change or delete a global shell variable. Global variables are visible everywhere, including inside
rcloadscripts andbackgroundjobs.setenv: list the global variables.setenv <name>: delete the variable.setenv <name> <value>: set it. If a local variable of the same name exists, it hides the global one, and the shell warnsvariable <name> shadowed by local variable.
More than two arguments is an error, so quote values with spaces. Names starting with
_are system variables and cannot be set. Affects only the shell. See Scripting.Unvalidated
drivshell> setenv path "/etc/bcm /tmp"Built-in help
Parameters: <variable> [<value>] Set variable <variable> to a specific value <value>, and export it making it visible in all scopes. If <value> is not present, the variable is removed from the global scope. System variables are those that begin with an "_". They may be referenced but not set. Use printenv to show the system variables.Further reading
