Rename a file on a file system

Shortest form: mv.

Rename or move a file within one filesystem, replacing an existing target. Exactly two arguments. Failure prints Warning: failed to rename file: <old>. Paths are inside the syncd container, and the command runs there as root. Also available as rename.

Built-in help

Parameters: <file_old> <file_new>
    Rename a file on a filesystem.  For FTP, the new file name
    must be a base name only.  Can't rename across file systems.
