SET

Set various configuration options

SET

Show or change the shell’s own options. With no argument it prints Current settings: and every option with its value. Otherwise each argument is <Option>=<value>. Options can be shortened to their upper-case letters; booleans take on/off, yes/no, true/false or 1/0. An unknown option prints Unknown option and fails. set = on its own asks for every option in turn, which blocks a bcmcmd session.

The options and their defaults are listed under Shell options in Accessing the shell. One option is missing from the built-in help: ReportStatus (on/off), which controls status reports from long-running tests.

help set does not show this command’s usage: it shows the usage of the register command setreg, because help looks in the mode’s own commands first and set is also the shortest form of Setreg. Use set ? instead.

Changes last until syncd restarts. They affect only how the shell behaves, not the switch.

Built-in help

Parameters: [<option>=<value>
Set or display various configuration information, if no arguments
are given, the current settings are displayed. Otherwise, all of
the arguments are set. If "=" is the sole argument, the user is
prompted for each settable item. Current allowable options are:

IFError=[on|off]- if set to "on" errors on commands processed
                      terminate the IF command.
RCLoad=[on|off] - enable or disable looking for RC load file if
                      command is not found.
RCError=[on|off]- if set to "on", rcload scripts will abort when
a command fails, if off, processing continues
                      even if an error occurs.
RCNoPrintError=[on|off]- if set to "on", rcload scripts will not
print an error message when a command fails
RCTest=[on|off]- if set to "on", "testrun" will load preferred
init scripts before certain tests (for example,
the MAC and PHY loopback tests need rc.soc).
LoopError=[on|off]- if set to "on", loop commands will abort
when a command fails, if off, processing
continues even if an error occurs.
MoreLines=<#> - Specify number of lines printed before holding
                      on a more command
ReportTime=<#> - Specify number of seconds between reports printed
                      by long-running tests
