HASH

Get or set hardware hash modes

HASH

Show or set the hash function that indexes the L2 (and VLAN-MAC) table. This is not the ECMP or LAG hash; for those see SwitchControl (HashControl, ECMPHashSet0Offset …) and HashDestination.

HASH [HashSelect=<U16|L16|LSB|ZERO|U32|L32>]

Without arguments it prints Current settings: and `` HashSelect=<value>``. Chips without this setting print No hash features on this chip or feature not available on this device. Trident 3 has the setting; a SONiC switch shows HashSelect=l32.

Showing is read-only.

Warning

Changing HashSelect moves every L2 entry to a different table index while the switch is forwarding. As the built-in help says, the L2 and L3 tables must be cleared afterwards. Do not do this on a running SONiC switch.

Hardware-validated — Show the current L2 hash select (read-only)

drivshell> hash
Current settings:
  HashSelect=l32

Built-in help

Parameters: [HashSelect=<U16|L16|LSB|ZERO|U32|L32>]
    Displays all hash parameters if no arguments given.
    Note: if HashSelect is changed, L2 and L3 tables should be cleared.
