KNETSYNC

KnetSync Diag commands

KNETSYNC

Control host logging of the KnetSync firmware, which runs on the switch’s embedded cores and handles time synchronisation (IEEE 1588) through KNET. Every form first checks that this firmware is loaded. If it is not, the command prints Failed: KnetSync firmware not loaded and does nothing, followed by the SAI shell’s Failed to execute the diagnostic command. Error: Operation failed. That is the result on SONiC Trident 3 switches, whose embedded cores are held in reset (see MCSStatus). The command changes only the firmware’s logging. It does not affect forwarding.

Hardware-validated

drivshell> knetsync hostloglevel
Failed: KnetSync firmware not loaded

Failed to execute the diagnostic command. Error: Operation failed.
KNETSYNC HOSTLOG <ON | OFF>

Start or stop the firmware’s host logging. Anything other than on or off prints the help.

Unvalidated

drivshell> knetsync hostlog on
KNETSYNC HOSTLOGLeVeL [<log_level>]

Set the firmware’s host-log level. Without a value, print KnetSync Firmware: hostlogging level set to 0x<level>. You can type it in full (hostloglevel) or abbreviate it to hostloglvl.

Unvalidated

drivshell> knetsync hostloglevel 3
