REBOOT

Reboot the processor

REBOOT

Despite its name, reboot does not reboot the switch. It cleans up the SDK and makes syncd exit; SONiC then restarts syncd, and with it the dataplane. Any argument just prints the usage.

At the drivshell> prompt, a line starting with reb is refused as blocked, so typing reboot there does nothing. The alias reset is not blocked.

Warning

reset, or reboot reached in a way the block does not catch (after a ;, with a unit prefix such as 0:reboot, or after a leading space), makes syncd exit. Never do this on a production switch.

Unvalidated — refused by the drivshell> prompt

drivshell> reboot
