LATency

Switch Latency Bypass Diagnostics

LATency

Shortest form: lat.

Show the switch latency mode and check which features, memories and registers it makes available. The mode itself can only be chosen at start-up with the switch_bypass_mode configuration variable (0, 1 or 2); see Configuration variables.

The first word is show or diag, typed in full. Anything else prints error: incorrect argument; no argument prints the usage.

The built-in help does not show the latency show feature|mem|reg <name> form described below.

Both forms only read state and are safe on a running switch. On a SONiC Trident 3 switch, which runs in the default latency mode, latency show prints nothing at all; the per-name checks still answer.

Hardware-validated

drivshell> latency show
LATency show [feature <name> | mem <name> | reg <name>]

Print the latency configuration summary. With a class and a name, also print <class> '<name>' is available in this latency mode (or is not available). An unknown name prints invalid <class>: <name>; a class word other than feature, mem or reg prints invalid feature: <name>.

Hardware-validated — Check whether the L2X memory is available in the current mode

drivshell> latency show mem L2X
memory 'L2X' is available in this latency mode
LATency diag

Print the latency diagnostics.

Unvalidated

drivshell> latency diag
