EXTernalTuning

External memory automatic tuning

EXTernalTuning

Shortest form: extt.

Run a BIST sweep over the tuning parameters of an external memory interface and, with InstallConfig=true, apply the best settings. External-memory tuning for Triumph-family chips with external SRAM/TCAM interfaces. A Trident 3 has no such interface; on it the command has nothing to tune and is expected to fail. Do not use on a production switch: on chips that have the interface it rewrites its timing.

The built-in help lists Interface, RandSeed, InstallConfig, TestCount, SliceMask, FullTest, Verbose, DdrLatency, EmLatency, RxPhase and TxPhase. The shell accepts many more Name=<value> options, among them SubInterface, DumpConfig, MakeConfig, SuppressFail, SUmmary, ShowMatrix, ShowProgres, DoPvtComp, FreQuency, PhaseSelOvrd, TestAllLatency, DoTxRxFirst and background-traffic options (BGSram…, BGTcam…).

Built-in help

Parameters:
    [Interface=<extif>] [RandSeed=<rseed>] [InstallConfig=true|false]
    [TestCount=<num>] [SliceMask=<mask>] [FullTest=true|false] [Verbose=true|false]
    [DdrLatency=<num>] [EmLatency=<num>] [RxPhase=<num>] [TxPhase=<num>]
        Performs a BIST analysis of common tuning parameters to find the
        optimal set. Sets interface to successful parameters.
        If FullTest is false, BIST testing will stop on first failure (for that setting).
        Use DdrLatency, EmLatency, RxPhase, TxPhase for manual settings.
