EXIT
Exit the current shell (and possibly reset)
- EXIT
Leave the current shell level. This ends a nested shell or an
rcloadscript.At the
drivshell>prompt a bareexitdoes nothing. To leavedrivshell>, type exactlyquit(seequit). The built-in help’s “The system is reset” does not apply to SONiC.exit cleanshuts down the SDK on every unit (bcm/soc shut down on unit <n>), leaving the hardware as it is.Any other single argument prints the usage, but first closes the unit’s warm-boot state file. A typo such as
exit foocan therefore affect the next warm reboot.
Warning
exit cleanshuts the SDK down underneath a runningsyncd, and the switch stops working untilsyncdrestarts.exit <anything>touches warm-boot state. Never run either on a production switch.Unvalidated
