Port VLAN settings

PVlan

Shortest form: pv.

Show or set each port’s default VLAN: the VLAN that untagged frames received on the port are put in. pvlan on its own is the same as pvlan show for every port. The port list is optional and defaults to all front-panel ports. cpu0 is ignored.

show is read-only. set changes a value that SONiC sets from the port’s untagged VLAN membership, and SONiC does not notice the change.

SONiC’s generate_dump collects pvlan show (scripts/generate_dump (show techsupport collector)).

pvlan show [<pbmp>]

Print Port <name> default VLAN is <vid> for each port, one line per port in port order. Read-only. On a SONiC switch, a port that is not an untagged member of any SONiC VLAN shows VLAN 1.

pvlan set <pbmp> <vid>

Set the default VLAN of the ports in PBMP. The VLAN must already exist and contain the ports. If it does not, the shell prints VLAN <vid> must be created and contain the ports before being used for port default VLAN. and stops at that port. The command still reports success, so a script cannot tell that it failed. Without a VLAN number it prints Missing VID for set.. On success it prints nothing. Changes switch state.
