BPDU
Manage BPDU addresses
- BPDU
Manage the MAC addresses that the switch treats as BPDUs (spanning-tree and similar control frames). They are stored in the L2 cache table, the same table
l2 cache addwrites. Sub-commands must be typed in full.+,-and-dare synonyms foradd, delandshow.showis read-only.addanddeloverwrite an L2 cache slot without checking what is in it, so they can remove an entry the SAI installed.- bpdu add [Index=<n>] [MACaddress=<mac>]
Write
MACaddressas a BPDU address into L2 cache slotIndex(default 0). With no options it only prints the defaults. Changes switch state.Unvalidated
drivshell> bpdu add Index=4 MACaddress=01:80:c2:00:00:00
- bpdu del [Index=<n>]
Clear slot
Indexby writing an all-zero MAC into it. Changes switch state.Unvalidated
drivshell> bpdu del Index=4
- bpdu show
Print
unit <u> has <n> BPDU entriesand thenBPDU <slot>: <mac>for each slot in use.<n>is the size of the table, not the number of entries. Every L2 cache entry is listed, including ones that are not BPDUs. Read-only.On a SONiC switch the table is empty and only the first line is printed: SONiC traps spanning-tree and other control frames with field-processor rules, not with L2 cache entries.
Hardware-validated
drivshell> bpdu show unit 0 has 512 BPDU entries
