Pause

Pause command processing and wait for input

Pause

Shortest form: p.

Print the arguments like echo, then wait for a key. The prompt is Hit SPACE to continue, Q to quit. With -<c> as the first argument (one character, for example -x), the key to continue is <c> instead of SPACE. Q or ESC makes pause fail, which stops an rcload script while RCError is on. Any other key beeps.

Read-only, but the shell waits until a key arrives. Through bcmcmd, which cannot send one, the session hangs until its timeout. Use pause only in an interactive bcmsh session.

Built-in help

Parameters: [-x] <Any text>
Echo whatever follows on the command line, then prompt to
hit SPACE to continue or Q to quit. On quit, the pause command
fails (causing the executing script to terminate). The -x option
requires the user to press x instead of SPACE to continue.
